Fully Sustainable Relaunch
Wella Hair Colour Gets a Complete Eco-Friendly Makeover
Wella has launched a sustainable version of its Welloxon Perfect colour developer for use in hair salons. According to the company, the entire product cycle was analysed and reworked with a view to sustainability.
A Vegan Formulation and a Reduced Carbon Footprint
The company says the colour developer is based on a new formulation. It is vegan and does not contain mineral oil. Wella also states that Welloxon Perfect is the first cosmetics product to use Evonik's carbon-reduced hydrogen peroxide. In addition, the packaging was designed in line with eco-friendly criteria. The bottle is made from around 70 per cent PCR plastic and is 100 per cent recyclable apart from the safety seal. Furthermore, its shape makes it possible to transport more items per pallet, the manufacturer explains. This should result in an estimated transport volume reduction of 25 per cent.
New Rinsing Method Saves Litres of Water
Professional hair stylists are expected to be able to offer their customers sustainable hair colourings using the new Welloxon Perfect. Wella says it has developed a new, simplified rinsing method to save up to six litres of water for each hair colouring.
The product was launched in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand in April.
