Comeback for Marc Jacobs Beauty
Coty relaunches colour cosmetics line internationally
The international cosmetics group Coty has announced a comeback for the “Marc Jacobs Beauty” make-up line. The designer’s new colour collection is based on the “Joyride Sensoriality” concept, which aims to offer make-up that appeals to all the senses. The aim is to combine textures, tactile finishes and formulas, because make-up should feel as good as it looks. The brand builds on the long-standing collaboration between Coty and Marc Jacobs. “I’m not interested in a single ‘right’ way of looking,” says Marc Jacobs. “Beauty is a form of self-expression based on a love of experimentation, playfulness and the reinvention of the familiar.” The American has been shaping the fashion world for decades and has achieved iconic status with his eponymous luxury brand and as a designer for Louis Vuitton.
A colourful palette for eyes, complexion and lips
The collection features a range of colour cosmetics for the eyes, complexion and lips, including eyeliners, eyeshadows, lipsticks, blush sticks, mascara, bronzers and highlighters. The formulas are designed to deliver intense, long-lasting results and are easy to layer, blend and wear all day long. The range is sold in packaging designed by Marc Jacobs featuring classic motifs such as daisies, stars and hearts in oversized, matte and metallic finishes. “Marc Jacobs Beauty has been in the making for years. The collection is a joyful, opulent celebration of colour and creativity,” said Jean Holtzmann, Chief Brands Officer Prestige at Coty.
Phased global launch
The products will initially be available in the US, Canada and the UK. The launch will take place from 28 May via the MarcJacobs.com website, followed by other retail channels such as Sephora and Selfridges. In June, the collection is set to be introduced in duty-free shops at major international airports in New York and Mallorca. From September, it is set to be available in Sephora stores across several countries. The collection is priced between US$26 and US$42 in the US and between £22 and £35 in the UK.
