AI Duo for New Fragrances
dsm-firmenich Partners with Boltz to Develop New Fragrance and Flavor Ingredients
Swiss fragrance and flavor manufacturer dsm-firmenich is teaming up with US-based AI startup Boltz to develop new ingredients. Founded by former MIT scientists, Boltz develops AI models for biomolecular modeling, which will now be integrated into dsm-firmenich’s research activities. Through the partnership, the research teams will gain full access to the Boltz platform, which the international group plans to combine with its database of taste and olfactory receptors built up over decades. The new models are designed to create molecular structures and predict how molecules interact with taste and olfactory receptors in the nose, mouth and other parts of the body. This will enable perfumers, flavorists and scientists to identify promising molecules more effectively and accelerate the development of fragrance and flavor innovations.
