The reusable system for cosmetics and drugstores, known as “zerooo”, is now available at lower prices thanks to the growth of the deposit-based scheme. This has been highlighted by SEA ME GmbH, the company behind the deposit system. It offers a range of standardised and bespoke design solutions in glass and PET for various brands. Thanks to the reuse of containers, economies of scale and the optimisation of logistics and cleaning processes, prices have now become significantly more attractive, whilst single-use containers are becoming less cost-effective due to volatile raw material prices, rising licence fees and new EU regulations. “These developments make it possible to create a more attractive pricing model compared to single-use packaging,” said company founder Lars Buck.
