The love power of hyacinths
Smooth, happy skin thanks to GlowCytocin
Lucas Meyer Cosmetics from Clariant is launching the active ingredient GlowCytocin worldwide. According to the company, it directly activates the oxytocin receptor in the skin and mimics the dermatological benefits associated with falling in love. Clinical, placebo-controlled studies have shown that applying a solution twice a day for 28 days significantly improves the skin's radiance and elasticity and reduces wrinkles. The active ingredient in hyacinth also has a calming effect.
Flower strips for the skin
GlowCytocin is extracted from the bulbs of white hyacinths - a plant that traditionally symbolises pure love. The plant-based raw materials are sustainably sourced from flowering strips in the Netherlands to promote biodiversity. The active ingredient is COSMOS-certified and vegan, and 99.6 per cent of the ingredients are of natural origin. GlowCytocin also fulfils the requirements of the Chinese market. In the clinical study, sensitivity to pleasant touch sensations was also measured using a spring on the forearm. 30 minutes after using the product, the part of the brain associated with positive moods and a higher level of happiness was activated.
Science meets love
"GlowCytocin represents a step forward in neurocosmetics, as it offers immediate and long-term benefits for the skin's appearance and well-being," emphasises Isabelle Lacasse, Manager of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics. The innovation meets the growing demand for multifunctional skincare products that deliver visible results and positive emotions at the same time.
