Symrise mix for sun protection
4-in-1 UV filter for faster SPF 50 formulas
Holzminden-based active ingredient manufacturer Symrise has introduced Neo Heliopan Fusion, a ready-to-use UV filter mix that combines three crystalline filters in a liquid UV filter, designed to simplify the formulation of sun protection products with SPF 50 Plus. The stable, homogeneous, and viscous liquid enables cosmetics developers to combine broad UV protection with a pleasant skin feel. According to Symrise, Neo Heliopan Fusion can be flexibly integrated into various textures such as creams, lotions, lipsticks, sprays, sticks, and other products.
Faster development, less complexity
Symrise emphasizes that the oil-based, water-free 4-in-1 approach reduces the complexity of formulations. Combining all filters in one ingredient reduces the need for additives. Storage and logistics management also become more efficient. The viscous liquid blend can be added directly to the oil phase, supports cold and hybrid processes, and is compatible with hot processes. This increases its applicability for a wide variety of production environments. The blend supports SPF adjustments up to 50+ at a maximum application concentration of 30 percent.
Strategic step for sun protection innovation
The new patent-pending solution addresses the growing consumer demand for sun protection that is as simple as it is effective and reliable. Thanks to cold processing and compatibility with hot, cold, or hybrid manufacturing processes, the product is particularly sustainable and therefore future-proof. Symrise therefore sees the new filter mix as a way for brands to respond more quickly to new regulatory challenges and market requirements. With Neo Heliopan Fusion, the company itself aims to further strengthen its position in the market as an innovation leader for sun protection products.
