Symrise goes green in Granada
German active ingredient manufacturer expands bio-based production in Spain
German active ingredient manufacturer Symrise has opened a new production line in Granada, Spain. The plant, which was built based on an American model, produces the multifunctional, bio-based pentylene glycol Hydrolite 5 green to meet growing global demand. Thanks to shorter transport routes and an optimised supply chain within Europe, the production facility helps customers and Symrise reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the company said. Consumers benefit from the product's good moisturising properties and firmer hair structure, while formulators can improve the sensory profile and effectiveness of the ingredients.
