The versatile ingredient is based on an extract of the organically grown acai berry, which is known as a superfood. Thanks to an innovative dehydration process, "Phytessence Wassai" is of higher quality and more sustainable than other acai extracts, according to the company. The product supports the skin in its daily beauty routine by protecting cellular mechanisms and elastin fibres, thus helping to reduce signs of ageing.

Sustainable cultivation in French Guiana

The botanical extract is 100 per cent of natural origin, certified according to the international COSMOS standard, free from preservatives and quantified in total polyphenols - important antioxidants that strengthen skin protection. The acai berry for "Phytessence Wassai" is grown transparently and sustainably by a partner in French Guiana, Croda announced. The berries are processed immediately after harvesting and the pulp is converted into powder by zeodration. This step ensures the high quality of the raw material and simplifies transport to the extraction plant in France.
