Recycling meets upcycling on the soap shelf
Risk of slipping eliminated: sustainable soap holders from Soapi
Soapi now provides solid hand, shower and hair care holders with zero plastic that make slipping impossible. The Berlin-based startup is launching an innovative magnetic holder for solid bars of soap in a wide variety of colours that is designed to make life easier in sustainable households.
From the fishing village to the bathroom
Soapi is a product that combines recycling and upcycling and is sustainable and preventive at the same time. The holders are made from discarded fishing nets in the centre of Berlin. Depending on the colouring and brightening of the processed pellets, the proportion of recycled fishing nets averages 90 per cent. The colourful soapis are injection-moulded from recycled plastic granulate provided by a company in Denmark. Maritime plastic waste is recycled and reused there.
Cheers! To the environment
The magnetic holder is doubly sustainable because the counterpart is also reused. Here, a bottle cork gets a new purpose when it is pressed into the soap and then sticks to the Soapi in the shower or on the wall. This works with any standard bottle cork. This allows the soap to dry in suspension after use. No adhesives or foils were used in the packageing either. Soapi’s own tuck-in packageing was developed for this purpose, which does not require colour printing.
Firmly anchored where it should be
The colourful holders are equipped with an industrial-quality neodymium magnet. This magnet is strong enough to easily hold a wide variety of hand and shower soap sizes or solid shampoos and solid conditioners. So that the Soapis can be easily attached to various surfaces, they have waterproof, durable, vegan adhesive pads on the back that can be removed without leaving any residue.
