Rebhan and Indorama Ventures unveil glass-like PET bottles
Bavarian packaging manufacturer Rebhan and Indorama Ventures have jointly unveiled new PET cosmetic bottles for the beauty and personal care market, which combine a thick-walled, glass-like appearance with light weight and shatter resistance. The material ‘Luxyclear EBM PET 5508’, developed specifically for extrusion blow moulding, offers high clarity and transparency and, thanks to its elegant, glass-like appearance, is particularly well-suited to high-quality cosmetic packaging. In addition to conventional virgin PET, the cost-effective material is also available with up to 100 per cent chemically recycled content and made from renewable raw materials, the companies announced. This enables cosmetics brands to significantly reduce their use of fossil-based raw materials without compromising on the glass-like appearance or the material’s properties. The product combines recyclability with sustainability and is now available to cosmetics and personal care brands in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Further information …
