PETA presents Vegan Awards
Animal welfare organisation selects 17 cosmetic products from different brands
The animal rights organisation PETA has presented its "Vegan Award" to 17 cosmetics companies. For the past five years, it has honoured brands that it believes are setting new standards with innovative, sustainable and cruelty-free products. These include colour cosmetics, body care and sun protection. All the honoured products are vegan and, according to PETA, contribute to a more animal-friendly future.
From eye pads to toothpaste
Among other things, the "Hair Oil" from ONNI Organic Luxury Haircare was honoured. The "Body Butter Stick" from PlantBase was chosen as the best body care product, the "Extroderm" balm from Dado Sens as the best care product for sensitive skin and the "MED Sun Balm" from Boep as the best sun protection product. The winners also include the "Firming Beauty Fluid" from Annemarie Börlind, a hyaluronic booster from Colibri Skincare, eye-sleep pads from Apricot, the hyaluronic lip balm from Jungglück, a toothpaste from Cosanea, the aloe vera moisturiser from Ōmaka Naturkosmetik and a deodorant stick from Everdrop.
"Living vegan becomes easier"
"The vegan range is growing continuously," said Tabea Dädlow, Corporate and Responsibility Manager at Peta. "More and more companies are responding to customers' desire for plant-based, cruelty-free options." The products were assessed by a Peta jury according to criteria such as effectiveness, skin and fragrance feel, innovation, quality and clear vegan labelling. All products are vegan, certified by PETA as cruelty-free and can be found on the animal rights organisation's positive list. According to Dädlow, who is responsible for the PETA Vegan Award, the award also shows consumers that a vegan life is becoming increasingly easier.
