Invercote Touch is a new uncoated paperboard from paper and board manufacturer Holmen. It reportedly enables brands to create premium packaging products that have a natural look and feel. With Invercote Touch, consumers actually touch the raw fibres. This provides a sensory interactive experience for them, the manufacturer says.

Stable Print Quality Was the Aim of the Developers

The material is said to have the embossing features that are inherent with Invercote. According to the company, the material frees up what brands can do with the surface and opens up more possibilities for creative messaging. While an uncoated paperboard will inherently print differently compared with coated paperboards, the development of Invercote Touch focused on steering the properties of the fibre layer to induce as little variation in print quality as possible.

According to Holmen, Invercote Touch is suitable for all types of packaging and graphics applications. It is initially available in a 330 GSM version.
