Dyson expands its beauty portfolio and introduces its first hair styling products with Dyson Chitosan. The styling creams and serums contain plant-based chitosan, a macromolecule extracted from oyster mushrooms. Chitosan is found in the cell walls of fungi and gives them their shape. In Dyson’s styling products, the ingredient forms the basis for flexible support.

Sustainable innovation with chitosan technology

Dyson’s chitosan products provide all-day support for all hair types and promote natural hair movement. According to the manufacturer, the new styling range is a further development of existing styling products that rely on simple polymers and hold the hair strands together like glue. With Dyson Triodetic technology, an environmentally friendly and effective solution has been developed that is particularly suitable for humid climates.

The future of hair care and ingredient research

With the launch of the new product range, Dyson is taking a step towards ingredient research and sustainable beauty technologies. The chitosan products will be available online at Dyson from 26 August 2024.
