The Lifocolor Group from Lichtenfels has presented numerous masterbatch innovations that plastics processors can use to enhance and functionalize their products. The innovations include hologram effect masterbatches - specially coated glitter pigments that develop a shimmering, rainbow effect and a special optical depth when exposed to sunlight, spotlights or shelf lighting. They refract the light in a colorful, glittering way and give plastic products such as cosmetics and packaging a glamorous appearance, reports the masterbatch manufacturer. The mixtures of colorants and additives are incorporated into plastic granules.

Natural effects and trend colors

Lifocolor has also further developed its existing granite effect masterbatches. The portfolio now also includes sandstone and cork looks suitable for the near-natural finishing of consumer goods. They can be processed in injection molding and extrusion processes up to 280 degrees. Under the title “Shades of Inspiration - Colours Unbound”, Lifocolor is also presenting a palette of around 60 trend colors for 2026. Lifocolor recommends selected Shades of Living and Shades of Beauty & Care on request. “We are breaking with the familiar, celebrating the unexpected and exploring the boundaries between reality and fantasy,” the company emphasizes. “Colours Unbound is a manifesto of creative freedom.”

Laser marking is becoming increasingly important

Lifocolor is also continuously developing laser marking in packaging design. The Lifolas-M portfolio enables fast, precise, high-contrast and permanent marking on various plastics without the use of printing inks or solvents. The Lifocolor Group has been producing customer-specific color masterbatches, additive masterbatches and compounds for the plastics industry for 35 years and currently employs 270 people in four countries. The recyclability of the products is already taken into account during the development process, emphasizes Lifocolor.
