Seppic launches active ingredient to combat ‘inflamm-ageing’
French specialty chemicals manufacturer Seppic has unveiled “Macro’Age”, a new cosmetic ingredient designed to regenerate the skin and combat chronic inflammation. So-called “inflamm-aging” is a form of skin ageing associated with chronic inflammation. The active ingredient reduces pro-inflammatory mediators and supports mechanisms that resolve inflammation. At the same time, it is said to promote the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid. Studies have reportedly shown improvements in skin smoothness, firmness and elasticity within a few weeks.
The power of algae
This sustainable ingredient is derived from marine biotechnology. It is produced using microorganisms from seaweed, which Seppic cultivates in bioreactors. According to the chemical company, the active ingredient is entirely bio-based, vegan and certified to the recognised natural cosmetics standards COSMOS and Natrue.
Smoothness for mature skin
According to the company, Seppic has developed this product in response to the growing demand for sustainable anti-ageing solutions. Macro’Age is designed to specifically support mature skin through a dual action on inflammatory mediators and skin structure. In studies, the active ingredient significantly improved the smoothness and firmness of mature skin within 56 days, whilst also refining the complexion. “With Macro’Age, we are pursuing a new approach to long-lasting skin health that focuses on alleviating skin inflammation,” emphasises Product Manager Mélodie Couvrat. Seppic is exhibiting at CosmeticBusiness in Hall 2 at Stand B12.
