Louis Vuitton enters the beauty market
LVMH Group presents luxury collection La Beauté
The world-famous luxury brand Louis Vuitton is entering the cosmetics market with decorative cosmetics at exceptionally high prices. The eagerly awaited first make-up line, La Beauté, features fragrant lipsticks for €120 and eye shadow palettes for €220. The debut collection, comprising a total of eight palettes, ten lip balms and 55 lipsticks, has been available exclusively at 92 Louis Vuitton and other selected stores worldwide, as well as on louisvuitton.com, since 29 August.
Elegant packaging by Konstantin Grcic
The collection is released under the artistic direction of creative director Pat McGrath, an influential figure in colour cosmetics. The refillable aluminium and brass packaging was designed by award-winning, internationally renowned Berlin-based designer Konstantin Grcic. It is decorated with the Louis Vuitton monogram and checkerboard pattern. According to the company, the product textures are soft and moisturising, the lipsticks offer a satin finish and the creamy eyeshadows blend seamlessly.
Fusion of make-up and perfume
Upcycled flower wax was used for the fragrance created by in-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, with signature notes of mimosa, jasmine, rose, mint and raspberry. LVMH is thus combining the worlds of make-up and perfume. Louis Vuitton entered the perfume market in 2016. The product launch is accompanied by a campaign directed by Damien Krisl, which highlights Louis Vuitton's vision of beauty as a lifestyle and art form.
