L’Oréal launches sustainability programme
First 13 teams selected for €100 million innovation fund
Cosmetics group L'Oréal has accepted the first 13 companies into its ‘Sustainable Innovation Accelerator’ programme. According to the group, ‘L'AcceleratOR’ has been allocated €100 million over five years and is intended to accelerate innovation, particularly in the areas of sustainable packaging, new ingredients from waste and the promotion of the circular economy. The start-ups and SMEs were selected from almost 1,000 applications from 101 countries. The teams from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Estonia, France, Japan, the United States and Brazil will be supported in the development and scaling of their solutions by the University of Cambridge, among others.
