L’Oréal deal in India
Group acquires majority stake in Indian cosmetics start-up Innovist
L’Oréal is acquiring a majority stake in Innovist, a young brand specialising in personal care products in India. The group stated that the acquisition represents an important step in its expansion within the rapidly growing Indian cosmetics market and adds local brands to its portfolio. Innovist was founded in 2019 by a trio of entrepreneurs and, with its skin and hair care brands, is one of India’s fastest-growing, science- and digital-focused personal care companies. Its success is based on pure formulations and transparent ingredients, backed by a strong research and development department and in-house production facilities. Innovist’s brands will become part of L’Oréal’s portfolio, whilst the founding team is set to continue and expand the business in partnership with L’Oréal India.
