AmphiStar, the Belgian manufacturer of upcycled biosurfactants, has launched the “AmphiNova” platform, featuring more than 80 biosurfactants tailored for a wide range of applications in personal care and other sectors. The molecule library is available for collaborations with commercial partners and can simplify cooperation with formulators, the company said. The bio-surfactants, derived from bio-based waste and by-products, offer a sustainable alternative to synthetic surfactants as well as to bio-surfactants from virgin plant sources, it was stated. Each molecule is optimised for specific properties, combining the functionality of a surfactant with additional performance characteristics.
