Less material, more performance

Amcor showcased new packaging solutions at CosmeticBusiness

At this year’s CosmeticBusiness in Munich, the international packaging supplier Amcor showcased its innovations for the beauty and personal care market. The focus was on concepts that combine aesthetics and functionality and, above all, are designed to support customers’ sustainability goals. In particular, they are intended to meet the stricter requirements regarding recyclability and material use set out in the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Examples include recyclable designs, lightweight packaging, materials containing post-consumer recycled content, as well as reusable and refillable options.

Bottles, deodorants and dispensers

Among the new products was the Mocha standard bottle with a rounded base and curved shoulders. It is available with a resealable 2-millilitre dispenser featuring an optional Standard or Grace dispensing head and offers a range of customisation options. The new 50-millilitre Shado roll-on deodorant bottle stands out thanks to its round, lightweight design. The Magic One airless dispenser, due to be launched shortly, was also on display. It features a single-engine concept that enables dispensing volumes of 0.3 to 1 millilitre, as well as various fill volumes and designs.

For personal care and household products

In addition, Amcor presented several solutions for use in both personal care and household products, developed with recyclability and performance in mind, as well as further lightweight, flexible packaging options that help reduce material usage. They demonstrate the increasing convergence of material and design requirements across product categories. “Brands in the beauty and personal care sectors are facing growing regulatory complexity and changing consumer expectations,” says Steffen Kacan, Amcor’s sales manager. The new solutions are designed to help companies meet these higher standards and expectations.
