Active ingredient manufacturer Symrise has launched Dragosine green, a new nature-based cosmetic ingredient for skincare. The company stated that the L-carnosine is derived entirely from plant sources using green biotechnology and achieves a naturalness index of 1. The aim is to support brands in developing high-performance skincare products with ingredients of natural origin to improve the appearance of the skin. The water-soluble active ingredient protects the skin against stress factors such as UV-induced oxidative stress, blue light, infrared radiation and heat. It is effective at concentrations of 0.2 per cent or higher, supports cost-effective formulations and offers a wide range of applications for preventative skincare.
