Cosmetics Europe: €110 billion in sales and 3.6 million jobs
Cosmetics and personal care products achieved retail sales of 110 billion euros in Europe in 2025. The continent is thus a global flagship market, explained the industry association Cosmetics Europe when presenting the figures. According to the figures, the largest European cosmetics markets are Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain. Skincare is the largest product category at 32 billion euros, followed by toiletries at 26 billion and haircare products at 20 billion euros, with the most commonly used products including deodorants, perfumes, make-up and shampoos, as well as soaps, sun protection and toothpaste. Cosmetics Europe emphasised that the European economy not only benefits from an annual value added of 29 billion euros – the sector also secures 3.6 million direct and indirect jobs.
