Erwin Müller, the 94-year-old founder of the Müller chemists’ chain, has expanded the senior management team of his retail group: he has appointed 39-year-old Sascha Zahner as the second managing director, whilst Elke Menold remains spokesperson for the management board and a member of the board of the private foundation. Zahner has been part of the senior management team for several years and has been responsible for areas such as exclusive drugstore purchasing, marketing, sustainability, wholesale and process management. Erwin Müller, now in his 95th year, wishes to “focus on key business decisions”, according to the retail group, which has 960 branches and 35,500 employees across Europe.
