Dr Wolff on course for growth

New hair and dental care products strengthen Bielefeld family business

Thanks to new cosmetic products and strong international expansion, the Bielefeld-based Dr. Wolff Group has continued on its growth path. Last year, sales climbed by almost seven per cent to 418 million euros. The Alpecin, Plantur and Alcina brands and the dental care products of the Karex and Bioniq brands contributed around 70 per cent of sales. The pharmaceutical sector with gynaecological products and Linola medical skin care accounted for 30 per cent, the company has now announced.

Dark hair

In addition to successful foreign markets, the 120-year-old group also increased its turnover in Germany by 7.5 per cent. With 120 million euros alone, Alpecin is the brand with the highest turnover and accounts for a third of total sales. Plantur follows with 84 million euros and Linola with 61 million euros. The strongest sales drivers were the men's shampoo Alpecin Grey Attack and the Plantur anti-grey shampoo for women. Internationally, the classic Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo C1 made a strong contribution to growth.

White teeth

The Dr Wolff Group has around 930 employees and is represented in 68 countries. The company's management announced that its share is to be further expanded. "For 2025 and the coming years, we expect double-digit growth thanks to international expansion and further innovations for hair, skin and teeth, some of which have already been patented," said Eduard R. Dörrenberg, CEO and Managing Partner. Promising developments include the toothpaste Bioniq White Filler for natural teeth whitening, which was launched at the end of 2024.
