Croda wins the SPOTLIGHT Community Award 2026

Following its successful debut last year, the SPOTLIGHT Community Award was presented once again at CosmeticBusiness 2026. The CosmeticBusiness community selected its favourite from a total of 24 entries. The winner is Croda with its pro-ageing collagen peptide Matrixyl® Neolide™.

With Matrixyl® Neolide™, Croda is further developing its established peptide technology for skincare. The patented submicron lipid encapsulation is designed to protect the peptide in cosmetic formulations and release it gradually into the skin. According to the company, the technology enables controlled peptide release over a period of up to 15 days, thereby delivering a consistent, long-lasting effect. Croda states that clinical data has already demonstrated visible skin firming after just two weeks. Tests showed an improvement of 25 per cent.

According to Croda, the ingredient is compatible with modern skincare routines and professional treatments. It is said to be very well tolerated with microneedling, supports skin regeneration and, when used in combination, leads to a significant increase in collagen III production. Matrixyl® Neolide™ is 99.79 per cent of natural origin and vegan. Compared to the original Matrixyl, the ingredient has a 43 per cent lower carbon footprint.

The SPOTLIGHT Community Award highlights innovations in the industry and actively involves the CosmeticBusiness community in selecting the most outstanding new product. A total of 24 innovations were nominated. The submitted products and solutions reflected the entire spectrum of the value chain – from new ingredients and formulation concepts to sustainable and eye-catching packaging solutions for the point of sale.
