Cosnova aims to continue growing

Cosmetics manufacturer plans further international expansion after a strong year

The German Cosnova Group, with its decorative cosmetics brands essence and Catrice, is continuing its international growth course. Following the acquisition of Spanish skincare specialist Niche Beauty Lab, the family-owned company has now announced further growth steps. "Niche Beauty Lab's expertise gives our global innovative strength an additional boost and strengthens our positioning as a holistic beauty player," said Javier González, co-founder and president of Cosnova. According to its own figures, the group increased its turnover by four per cent to 991 million euros last year and grew by around 20 per cent in online retail. It is now the sixth-largest decorative cosmetics company worldwide and the second-largest in terms of unit sales.

Catrice and essence drive growth

Essence is now the best-selling cosmetics brand in Europe, Cosnova announced. This confirms essence's leading position and further expands its digital reach. Catrice has also invested in design, performance and innovation, strengthening its profile as a modern, democratic beauty brand, the company reported. Catrice is now one of the top three make-up brands on TikTok worldwide. At the same time, the company is continuing to expand its international presence.

Growth from the USA to India

With the acquisition of its Spanish distribution partner, Cosnova now aims to strengthen its position in Spain as one of its most important European core markets. In addition, Cosnova is taking over the Eastern Europe distributor and will in future serve eleven countries in South-East Europe from a single unit in order to leverage synergies and increase efficiency. In the UK, essence and Catrice are strongly listed at Primark and are recording high sales figures. In the US, essence is now listed at Walmart, and the brand has also been represented in India since the end of 2025. At the same time, Cosnova is investing in its logistics infrastructure and establishing regional logistics hubs, including in Dubai. Cosnova currently distributes essence and Catrice in around 90 countries worldwide.
