Cosnova acquires Niche Beauty Lab

Family business expands with young Spanish skincare specialist

The Cosnova Group, based in the Taunus region of Germany, has acquired Spanish skincare manufacturer Niche Beauty Lab, thereby expanding its portfolio, which has previously focused heavily on decorative cosmetics. With this acquisition, the family-owned company aims to enter the fast-growing, research-driven skincare segment, which is set to play a greater strategic role. "We have been writing a success story with our essence and Catrice brands for more than two decades," said Javier González, President and co-founder of Cosnova. "In Niche Beauty Lab, we have found a partner that is an ideal fit for our orientation."

Democratic skincare

Niche Beauty Lab was founded in 2018 and develops skincare products in its own laboratories, which are sold under the Transparent Lab, Theramid and Acnemy brands. They are available in several European countries, including Germany. The products are aimed at an informed clientele looking for scientifically based skincare at affordable prices. "Since our founding, we have pursued the goal of democratising beauty," says founder and CEO Sergio Chorrero. "Our 'from the lab to your home' approach combines scientific expertise, effective formulations and exceptional quality at affordable prices."

Full continuity at Niche

With this acquisition, Cosnova aims to tap into new target groups and expand its position in the beauty industry. The family-owned company is focusing on stability and continuity in the integration of Niche Beauty Lab: the company headquarters and structures in Canet de Mar near Barcelona will remain unchanged, as will the team of 45 employees. Founder Chorrero will continue to lead the company as CEO. At the same time, Cosnova's international distribution network and scaling expertise will open up new growth prospects for him in more than 90 markets. Cosnova was founded more than 20 years ago by Christina Oster-Daum and Javier González and is now one of Germany's largest cosmetics companies. In 2024, the group achieved a turnover of 954 million euros with around 900 employees.
