The IKW, the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association, is cautiously optimistic. Despite the tense situation in the raw materials and energy markets, the industry hopes that consumers will continue to be willing to buy. Therefore, it expects sales to grow by 2.5 per cent in 2023, as announced by the association in its recently published annual report 2022/2023. An industry barometer also published there paints a corresponding picture of the mood. At 51 per cent, the majority of respondents assess the market development as "average". A year earlier, the figure was 47 per cent. 42 per cent (previous year: 50 per cent) expect major investments. The annual report also provides an overview of the association's activities.
