Unilever is to acquire the biotech haircare brand K18. The San Francisco-based company was founded in 2019 and claims to offer hair care based on its patented K18 peptide. This carries amino acids into the cortex of hair, where it can reconnect keratin chains and thus repair damaged hair. The portfolio comprises six products for hairdressers and end consumers.
