BASF expands its portfolio of sustainable cosmetic packaging
BASF is expanding its Ecovio range of compostable packaging materials with new grades designed to meet the recycling requirements for flexible barrier packaging. The portfolio is intended to enable flexible packaging manufacturers and brand owners to tailor barrier performance as well as bio- and paper-recyclability to regulatory frameworks, thereby offering greater design freedom. The barriers in the modular material toolbox could protect against fats, oils, waxes and liquids, as well as against oxygen and moisture, the company announced. The various material types could be combined to create different structures and enhance sustainability.
