Givaudan presents two new active ingredients to activate the skin
Swiss active ingredient manufacturer Givaudan Active Beauty has unveiled two innovations for skincare: VectorHyal and PrimalHyal. VectorHyal is a specially developed delivery system containing hyaluronic acid, designed to improve the efficacy and stability of cosmetic ingredients. The active ingredient combines an encapsulation technique with hyaluronic technology to boost the efficacy and stability of cosmetic formulations. Molecules are said to penetrate deeper into the skin, whilst sensitive ingredients are protected. The biopolymer structure can also improve the visual appearance, as it enables transparent formulations.
System for serums and creams
VectorHyal is suitable for both hydrophilic and lipophilic active ingredients, according to the company. Its hyaluronic matrix enables the controlled release of the encapsulated molecules upon contact with skin enzymes and is compatible with various dosage forms, from serums to creams. “VectorHyal enables brands to push the boundaries of formulation research and enhance the customer experience,” says Dmitri Colesnic, Manager at Givaudan Active Beauty. The innovation is based on more than 20 years of experience in the field of encapsulation, as well as the collaboration with the Brazilian company Nanovetores, which began in 2022.
Support for skin nerves
Givaudan has also unveiled “PrimalHyal NeuroYouth”. The active ingredient, based on low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and amino acids, is designed to reduce neuronal ageing of the skin and improve sensory perception. By supporting nerve fibre function and neural communication, PrimalHyal NeuroYouth promotes healthier skin. According to the company, it utilises the skin’s affinity for low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid to optimise the delivery of amino acids. Neural communication pathways and the efficiency of neural mitochondria are improved. Tests involving more than 120 participants have reportedly shown visible and measurable effects. Apparent skin ageing, as well as wrinkles and lines, have been reduced by five years, whilst skin tone and firmness have been improved.
