After more than 40 years, Birgit Huber has handed over the leadership of the Beauty Care division at the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association (IKW) to her successor, Anika Burkard. A biology PhD graduate from the University of Heidelberg, she has been working for the IKW for a year and is familiar with the issues within the division, the IKW announced. She brings more than ten years’ experience in corporate and scientific communications and most recently oversaw technical, regulatory and communications matters relating to cosmetic products. Going forward, Burkard will be the main point of contact for member companies, politicians, public authorities and the media on cosmetics-related matters. Burkard announced that she would work alongside member companies at both national and European level to promote an innovation-friendly and reliable regulatory environment.
