BASF has opened a new production plant in Düsseldorf for specialty emollients used in skin and sun care products. The investment, in the mid-double-digit million-euro range, will expand production capacity for these specialty products to meet growing demand. “By expanding our capacity for emollients based on renewable raw materials, we are enabling innovative solutions that meet consumers’ expectations for performance, formulation flexibility and sustainability,” said Agus Ciputra, Head of BASF’s global Personal Care business unit. Emollients help bind and retain moisture in the skin and improve the sensory properties of personal care products. Düsseldorf is BASF’s largest production site worldwide for ingredients used in the cosmetics and personal care industry. Further information .
