Barckhahn to head Cosmetics Europe
Beiersdorf board member aims to give cosmetics association a strong voice
Oswald Barckhahn, a member of the Beiersdorf board, has been elected as the new president of Cosmetics Europe, the European umbrella organisation for the cosmetics and personal care industry. He succeeds Birgit Huber, Deputy Director of the German Association of the Cosmetics, Perfumery and Detergent Industry (IKW), who has served as interim president for the past year, for the next two years. Tony Lorman of Edgewell has also joined the leadership team as treasurer. Barckhahn has been a member of Beiersdorf’s Executive Board since 2021 and heads the company’s business in Europe and North America, as well as its global luxury division. He explained that a strong presence of companies in the EU is necessary to ensure that policymakers recognise the importance of these products and prioritise the needs of consumers and businesses.
