Aveda opts for AeroFlexx

Natural cosmetics brand uses refill packaging with low plastic content

US natural cosmetics brand Aveda will in future be using refill packaging from packaging manufacturer AeroFlexx, which is strongly focused on sustainability. According to the company, it uses up to 70 per cent less plastic than two 250-millilitre bottles. The innovative products are set to be launched in early 2027, initially for selected best-selling Aveda products. ‘This solution not only reduces plastic consumption, but also meets our high standards in terms of design, recyclability and performance,’ says Aveda packaging manager Nicole Call. The brand was founded in 1978 by Austrian-American entrepreneur and environmental activist Horst Rechelbacher as a pioneer of the ecological cosmetics and wellness movement and has been part of the Estée Lauder Group since 1997.
