All-Plastic Pump
Aptar Beauty Expands Sustainable Advance Collection with New Cosmetics Pump
Aptar Beauty has expanded its Advance collection, launched in 2025, with Novus Advance, a cosmetics pump made entirely of plastic. According to the packaging specialist, the new pump is made exclusively from polyolefins and was developed for hair and body care products. When combined with suitable HDPE, PP or PET bottles, the pump system can be easily processed within the respective recycling streams. With the new product line, Aptar aims to further improve the recyclability of its dispensing systems while retaining the familiar design and dispensing quality of its best-selling products.
For Oils, Creams and Serums
Bellows technology positioned outside the dosing chamber is designed to deliver a consistent dose of either 350 or 500 microlitres. The pump is suitable for formulations ranging from low to high viscosity, including oils, creams and serums used in body care, sun care and hair care ranges. A twist-lock mechanism allows the pump to be locked without an additional protective cap. Novus Advance has also passed internal packaging tests conducted in accordance with the international ISTA 6 standard, making it suitable for the specific demands of e-commerce packaging.
Supporting Brands’ Sustainability Transition
The all-polyolefin cartridge used in Novus Advance consists of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) and contains no fossil-based polyoxymethylene, which is more difficult to recycle. Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic can also be used. The new pump complements the existing GSA Advance and PZ Advance dispensers, extending the product family’s all-plastic concept to hair and body care applications.
“We plan to expand the all-polyolefin collection to include additional dosage options and applications, making it easier for brands to transition towards greater sustainability,” announced Aptar Beauty Manager Luigi Garofalo.
