Influencing the cleaning behaviour of stainless steel by varying the surface treatment
A product of: BOLZ INTEC GmbH
Innovation Route

Surfaces in contact with high-quality, high-purity, or sensitive products during transport, storage, and processing must be non-reactive, corrosion and wear-resistant, and suitable for complex geometries. Typically, stainless steels are used, which are ground and post-treated chemically or electrochemically, supported by standards and guidelines. However, these surfaces can vary in topography, roughness, and tension, affecting adhesion and cleaning. The OGF process example highlights the importance of microstructure, alongside roughness, in reducing contaminant adhesion.
