From one single mold
Neopac and PackSys present molded tube with integrated cap
Packaging specialists Neopac and PackSys have unveiled their new UltraLite product, a molded tube with an integrated hinge cap and tamper-evident feature. Directly molding the cap onto the tube body eliminates the need for additional assembly steps. The companies emphasize that the design saves up to 78 percent plastic and significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to conventional tubes. The result is a clear silhouette, lower material usage, and full recyclability.
Packaging for greater sustainability
According to Neopac, the new platform is designed to meet the needs of cosmetics and oral care brands. By using bio-based materials or recycled plastics, UltraLite supports companies' sustainability goals and gives brands a competitive advantage. “UltraLite sets a new standard for technology and safety in tube packaging,” emphasizes Neopac's head of research, Philippe Kern. Julius Läubli, Head of Development at PackSys Global, adds: “We have translated a vision into an industrial process that reduces material and takes safety and aesthetics to a new level.”
Two companies, one result
Following the presentation of the functional pilot samples this fall, the companies expect an industrialization phase of 12 to 16 months. The Neopac Group from Switzerland is an international supplier of tubes for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and oral care. With locations in Europe, North America, and Asia, the company has a production capacity of around 1.3 billion tubes per year. Swiss machine manufacturer PackSys Global develops and produces machines and processes for the manufacture of tube packaging.
