Cold solution against dandruff
German manufacturer Symrise introduces liquid preparation Crinipan PO Plus
The cosmetic ingredient manufacturer Symrise has announced the launch of a new anti-dandruff product. Crinipan PO Plus protects the scalp against dandruff and excessive sebum production, the company has now announced. The versatile, easy-to-use liquid mixture is suitable for a wide range of hair and scalp care products. It also complements Symrise's market-leading portfolio of different anti-dandruff solutions.
New combination of active ingredients increases efficacy
According to the manufacturer, Crinipan PO Plus combines the classic anti-dandruff active ingredient piroctone olamine with innovative ingredients such as decylene glycol and 1,2-hexanediol. It thus pursues a multi-ingredient approach. It combats the yeast fungus Malassezia to reduce the risk and occurrence of dandruff and redness. This is also based on its effectiveness against the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, which also contributes to the reduction of skin redness. According to Symrise, the liquid solution is easy for manufacturers to use as it does not need to be heated before being incorporated into formulations. Crinipan PO Plus is particularly suitable for transparent liquid and solid shampoos, serums and conditioners.
Multiple locations ensure worldwide availability
Crinipan PO Plus can be used worldwide and also in China, the company emphasises. Several production sites will ensure global availability. "We are pleased to introduce a ready-to-use, effective solution for formulators of hair and scalp care products," said Laura Meunier, Global Product Manager at Symrise. "Crinipan PO Plus makes it much easier for manufacturers to develop products that reduce dandruff and leave consumers with a healthy head of hair." The company is continuously expanding its range of anti-dandruff products. Symrise, based in Holzminden, Lower Saxony, is a global supplier of fragrances, cosmetic base materials and functional ingredients. In 2024, it generated sales of five billion euros with branches all over the world.
