Wood from the Printer

A Nature-based Packaging Material Enables the 3D Printing of Prototypes

Sulapac has now introduced its bio-based packaging material for 3D printing. Called Sulapac Flow 1.7, the plastic substitute made from wood waste and biopolymers can be used to produce sustainable prototypes. Functional parts, moulds and decorative elements can also be produced using the so-called FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) process, according to the company. The material reportedly has a stable strength, hardly warps or shrinks, is free of splinters and does not clog the printer nozzles. It gives the manufactured parts a natural look and feel.
