To address the trend towards refillable cosmetics, Vema cosmetics services is focusing on reusable packaging with a tap. Flexible packaging with a tap reportedly is easier to use without compromising on hygiene and safety.

Bag-in-Box Rather Than Canisters

The company is positioning its bag-in-box solution as a sustainable alternative to more traditional canisters with a pump dispenser. The outer box is made from paperboard or cardboard, can be printed all over and protects the liquid inside from the sun as well as from being damaged. The inner bag is made from foil and is especially suited to the safe and hygienic storage of liquids, protecting their scent, consistency and quality. The company adds that the so-called "Vitop tap" enables easy use, accurate portioning, clean filling, and can be operated with one hand. It prevents oxygen from getting inside while the liquid is coming out to prevent the risk of germs developing. Vema is offering bag-in-box packaging for volumes between 1.5 and 20 litres.

Stand-Up Refill Pouches

Another option is to package liquids or fluid lotions in refill pouches, the company explains. The stand-up pouches are made from foil, are fully printable and come with a comfortable handle. They also come with an airtight tap as a hygienic and user-friendly alternative to single-use plastic bottles and traditional stand-up bags with a screw-top. Pouches are available for volumes from 1 to 3 litres.
