"Perfect Skin" in the Metaverse
L'Oréal Opened a Showroom in the Virtual Reality
L'Oréal has increased its presence in the metaverse. A showroom for the cosmetics group was set up on this virtual 3D platform by the Taiwanese technology company Ubitus. L'Oréal named the showroom "Perfect Skin Expo" and presents beauty products from its dermatological brand portfolio to Taiwanese users during August and September. In various rooms that were all designed to match the respective brand images, consumers were able to find out about the products and place orders. This was done via a link to Taiwan's top e-commerce platforms momo and Shopee.
A New Dimension in Online Shopping
The metaverse is a virtual space where users can chat as avatars. In contrast to traditional websites and social media, users can practically immerse themselves in this 3D virtual reality. In addition to working and gaming there, they can also go shopping. Many companies including L'Oréal already have a presence in this network.
A Shopping Experience Created Using Cloud Technology
The Group contacted Ubitus to support them in setting up the "Perfect Skin Expo". Ubitus operates a cloud streaming platform and uses interactive technology for cloud gaming. The company says this ensures users will have an enjoyable shopping experience in the metaverse.
