New record at Rossmann

Almost 5000 stores generate sales of 15.3 billion

The drugstore chain Rossmann has reported that it record sales of 15.3 billion euros last year. According to the group, sales grew by 10.2 per cent. The company currently operates 4966 stores in nine European countries and employs 65,500 people. In Germany, with more than 2,300 shops, sales rose by six per cent to 9.9 billion euros. The stores in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Albania, Kosovo, Spain, Switzerland and online in Denmark recorded an increase of 18.9 per cent to 5.4 billion euros.

105 million euro bonus for employees

Rossmann has once again involved its 40,500 employees in Germany in the company's success and utilised the tax-free inflation compensation bonus. In the past two years, the company has paid out 105 million euros to its employees. Management spokesman Raoul Roßmann also called on the future German government to continue this tax-favourable opportunity to relieve the burden on people. The Group also donated around 20 million to projects in the areas of food security, health, education and climate change. Products with a retail value of 1.67 million euros were donated to the food banks alone, in addition to at least 700,000 euros in cash donations. Since August 2024, the articles of association have stipulated that one per cent of the profit of Dirk Rossmann GmbH and one per cent of the equity of Rossmann Beteiligungs-GmbH will be donated.

330 new shops planned in Europe

This year, the Group plans to invest 540 million euros in the opening of 330 new shops, 75 of which will be in Germany. At the same time, further steps towards sustainability and environmentally friendly products are planned. The proportion of recycled plastic in private label packaging has recently risen to 39 per cent and is well above the German average. In terms of all types of material, the proportion of recycled material is 45 per cent. In addition to its sustainability report, Rossmann also intends to a report on its social commitment in future.
