Rising Costs Prompt Consumers to Pay Greater Attention to Price, Sustainability and Innovation
Market researchers at Mintel believe that rising costs of living in Germany will lead consumers to make more price-conscious purchasing decisions in the cosmetics and personal care segment. This is one of the key findings of the latest Mintel market report. According to the report, 29 per cent of consumers surveyed said they would cut back on spending on non-essential items. However, 49 per cent also agreed that using cosmetics and skincare products make them feel better. Interest in innovations in the beauty sector is therefore likely to remain high, the study authors said. The consumers also continue to attach great importance to the issue of sustainability.
