IKW: Lots of Innovations in 2020
The beauty and household care industry demonstrated a high level of innovation in 2020.
According to figures of the German market research organization GfK that were now presented by the the German Personal Care and Detergent Industry Association IKW, 32 per cent of all items in the personal care and cosmetics segment and 28 per cent of products in the laundry, cleaning and household products segment were new products last year. The average share of new products in the overall FMCG market was significantly lower at 22 percent, IKW adds. These figures reportedly are also a result of the pandemic, which has created increased demand for hygiene products.
