Green Claim Directive Should Be Practicable
Associations Call for Transparent and Feasible Framework for Application
Natrue is one of ten associations calling on the European Parliament to make the upcoming Green Claims Directive more practicable. In a joint statement, they urge policymakers to create a transparent and feasible framework for the substantiation and verification of environmental claims. The associations believe that with a poorly designed framework, consumers will not be empowered to make more sustainable purchasing decisions, which in turn will hinder the achievement of the EU's climate and environmental goals. The associations expressly welcome the directive itself as the key to combating greenwashing practices and creating a level playing field.
