After apprenticeship and work as a druggist in various companies, he founded his own drugstore in 1973 to be able to realise his ideas, the company continues. Accordingly, he wanted to enable people to become involved in the business and find their own individual, self-determined path in life. To the end, Werner dedicated himself to the idea of an unconditional basic income as an important contribution to society, in order to give people the freedom to take their own initiative, even in times of increasing globalisation, digitalisation and automation.
