Larger and more international: CosmeticBusiness 2018 takes off and provides new inspiration
The largest and most diverse CosmeticBusiness to date is about to take place: 414 exhibitors and represented companies will present new ideas and solutions for the development of cosmetic products from 6 to 7 June. This year, as a result of its great popularity, the international trade fair of the cosmetics supplying industry will be occupying all four halls of the MOC Munich for the first time. With the new exhibition section Colour Cosmetics and the Distributors Lounge there are further new features.
414 exhibitors and represented companies from 20 countries – including about 70 new exhibitors – will take part at CosmeticBusiness 2018. For the first time, the trade fair will be held in all four halls of the MOC Munich. Trade visitors can look forward to the largest CosmeticBusiness to date.
"As the most important meeting place for the cosmetics industry and its suppliers in German-speaking countries, CosmeticBusiness continues to grow. A comprehensive offer with more exhibitors and a higher internationality awaits the visitors in the four halls of the MOC Munich", says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "In addition, we are constantly developing CosmeticBusiness. With the new exhibition section Colour Cosmetics and the Distributors Lounge, we are consistently tailoring our trade fair to the needs of exhibitors and visitors."
CosmeticBusiness: Diverse range of exhibitors and highly international
Cosmetics brands and manufacturers spanning the entire cosmetics industry value chain will be presenting themselves at CosmeticBusiness 2018. The offerings range from raw materials and ingredients, machines and services for the manufacturing of cosmetics, through to packaging and marketing.
For example, every seventh company presents ingredients for cosmetics in Munich. The manufacturing sector, which includes a wide range of contract manufacturers and private label producers, accounts for about one third of exhibitors. Around half of the exhibitors belong to the field of packaging. This year's CosmeticBusiness will once again cover the entire cosmetics packaging world – from masterbatch and packaging material through packaging finishing and printing and special components for packaging development to the finished packaging solution.
CosmeticBusiness also shows its international side: 37 percent of the exhibitors come from abroad – which means that more than 150 foreign companies are now presenting themselves at CosmeticBusiness. Most of the international exhibitors come from France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
Topic groups in the new exhibition section Colour Cosmetics
In the new exhibition section Colour Cosmetics in hall 1, visitors can find out more about suppliers of colour cosmetics. MAGA from Poland, Mascara Plus from Italy, Premium Cosmetics – a company from the Weckerle Group – from Germany or Trendcolor from Italy are amongst those exhibiting their offerings for the first time. In addition, the research institute Dermatest will be presenting colour measurement solutions and mascara volume tests.
The topic of colour cosmetics will also feature as part of a best practice discussion. Cosnova employees use the example of the essence maker shop to illustrate how the company successfully implements innovations in the market.
Distributors Lounge: Meeting place for the initiation of sales collaborations
"In hall 1 you can find another new addition to this year's CosmeticBusiness: The Distributors Lounge, where matchmaking sessions will be held on both days. The service primarily supports foreign suppliers and cosmetics brands in establishing contacts with distributors from German-speaking countries," says Project Director Ivonne Simons about the exclusive meeting place. "Distributors, on the other hand, are provided with a perfect opportunity to get to know exciting brands that they do not yet work with." Many international brands – for example from Australia, Denmark, Italy, Poland and Spain – have already registered. Online registration for the matchmaking sessions is open and free of charge until 31 May 2018.
In order to better understand cosmetics markets, the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association (IKW) and the Swiss Cosmetic and Detergent Association SKW are also organising presentations on the German and Swiss cosmetics markets.
New in focus: Special SPOTLIGHT show will showcase innovations
The exhibitors will be showcasing numerous creations and innovations at CosmeticBusiness. The special SPOTLIGHT show, housed in hall 1 this year, will provide a targeted overview. With around 30 Spotlight exhibitors, the number of product creations to be showcased in the exhibition will exceed that of previous years. Additionally, the trade fair's conference programme focuses on several exhibitor spotlights.
Accompanying conference programme offers interesting highlights
Once again this year, the conference programme provides insights into trends that will influence the future business success of companies in the beauty industry. In their presentations, experts will address current topics such as developments in the field of natural cosmetics and packaging design 4.0. Furthermore, the focus will be on colour and material trends for the 2019/20 season, which will be presented by trend researcher and colour expert Niels Holger Wien, for example. The trend workshops, organised by Carlin Creative Trend Bureau, are new to feature on the conference programme and will be held on both days of the trade fair.
