CosmeticBusiness 2020 will take place - visitor survey results: Majority of respondents plan on participating in the trade show

The Bavarian State Government decided that, under specific conditions, trade shows may be once again held starting 1 September 2020. Leipziger Messe has now started the next phase of preparation for CosmeticBusiness 2020, which will take place at the MOC Munich from 30 September to 1 October. A hygiene concept was developed for the international trade show of the cosmetics supplying industry. A recently conducted representative visitor survey revealed that the majority of those questioned are planning to participate in CosmeticBusiness 2020.

In order to have an idea of the expected number of visitors to CosmeticBusiness 2020 during Corona, Leipziger Messe recently conducted an e-mail survey: Around 3,000 decision-makers from cosmetics companies from the German-speaking countries were consulted.

56.5 per cent said they want to visit this year's CosmeticBusiness. However, 20 per cent of those surveyed will not take part in the trade show for reasons that had already played a role in the past: For example, this includes appointments at inconvenient times. Just under a quarter of those surveyed say they will not be attending the trade show due to factors related to Corona.

"The majority of the visitors are planning to attend the trade show. Thanks in part to a large number of respondents, the results of the survey paint a positive outlook for the expected number of visitors,” says Markus Geisenberger, Chief Executive Officer of Leipziger Messe. “Furthermore, the survey highlights the fact that the cosmetics industry continues to demand the opportunity to meet at CosmeticBusiness and to promote projects on site. That is why it is very important for us to be able to offer the industry this desired platform as a trend barometer again this year."

Detailed Hygiene Concept for Health Protection Developed

To aid the organisation of this year's CosmeticBusiness, Leipziger Messe has developed a hygiene concept together with the MOC Munich. "Protecting the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors, partners and employees is our top priority, which we have highlighted with our detailed hygiene concept," reports Chief Executive Officer Markus Geisenberger. The concept is based on four key components: Maintaining the minimum distance of 1.5 metres, wearing protective masks, observing the hygiene rules and the contact tracing.

For example, the online registration of all participants ensures contact tracing. Floor markings are one of the ways in which safe distancing will be maintained on the exhibition grounds. In addition, a protective mask must be worn inside the fairgrounds. In lecture areas, the distances between the chairs will be increased. Furthermore, disinfectant dispensers will be provided throughout the entire event site and contact surfaces will be continuously cleaned.

CosmeticBusiness Continues to Provide a Comprehensive Industry Profile

Despite the special circumstances this year, visitors to CosmeticBusiness can once again look forward to a wide range of exhibits. Around 300 exhibitors and represented companies will present their inspiring ideas and innovative new products at the MOC Munich.

"CosmeticBusiness is once again the only international industry platform in Europe this year that offers a comprehensive overview of the entire value creation process in the cosmetics supplying industry - from ingredients to manufacturing and packaging. Our trade show in autumn sets the course for the development of future cosmetic products and thus for the business success of the participating companies", says Ivonne Simons, Project Director of CosmeticBusiness.
