Zalando expands its cosmetics business
The online retailer is focusing on expanding its beauty segment. As of now, Zalando also offers cosmetic products for men and is expanding its beauty business to Austria and Poland, just in time for Christmas. According to the company, this will strengthen its position as the leading platform for fashion and lifestyle products in Europe.
Austria and Poland in the focus
As recently as March 2018, Zalando introduced the new "Beauty" product category. At that time, 4,000 products from 120 women's brands were launched. The product range now includes 7,000 products. Zalando says that they are very satisfied with the development of this new segment and believe now is the right time to expand their full cosmetics range to Austria and Poland.
Online beauty for men
Care products for men have also been available in Zalando's online shop since the beginning of October. The new product range includes around 1,500 articles from 25 suppliers for skin, body, beard and hair care. In addition to brands such as 99 by David Beckham and Clarisonic by the L'Oreal Luxe Group, various natural cosmetics products are also available. Furthermore, the products will be available at Zalando's first cosmetics concept store, the Zalando Beauty Station in Berlin, which opened in July.
